Visit of Belgian Minister to BEKA Schréder

On Wednesday, the 23rd of October 2013, BEKA Schréder was honoured by a visit of the Belgian Minister Jean-Claude Marcourt (Vice-President and Minister of Economy) and his delegation. After a short presentation on BEKA Schréder, the minister was taken on a tour of the company’s development area and factory.

This visit was part of the itinerary of a Belgian Economic Mission to South Africa, which was headed by HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium, representative of HM the King.

The Belgian trade delegation’s visit to South Africa confirms the importance and success of Belgian investments in the country. For BEKA Schréder particularly, the visit demonstrates recognition of our efforts and achievements as manufacturers of high-quality lighting products.

BEKA Schréder is well known for its commitment to quality. Our success stems from our unique manner of adapting our products to the environmental conditions of the African continent. Thus, BEKA Schréder’s products received an identity that was soon fuelling their growth into other markets and territories, which include not only almost all African countries, but also the Middle East, South East Asia, Europe and Australia.

Since 2002, we have had a partnership with the Belgian company, Schréder ‐ a multinational lighting company with over 44 operational sites across five continents. In 2013, BEKA has become a wholly owned Schréder company. Since then we have changed our name to BEKA Schréder. While this strengthens our ties with our parent company, it also allows us to continue to deliver the highest levels of service and the best global lighting innovations available on the market today.

We foresee a bright future for our products on the African continent on which various infrastructures will continue to be expanded for many years to come.
