BEKA Schréder appoints a new General Manager
BEKA Schréder, Africa’s leading manufacturer of LED luminaires and glass fibre reinforced polyester poles, is pleased to announce the appointment of Wimpie Ludwick as its new General Manager.
Ludwick, who first started with BEKA in 1995, held various positions within the company and region, being the Market Development Manager for Australia and New Zealand and the National Sales Manager for the past three years. He has officially succeeded Carl Watson, who has been appointed as Chief Regional Officer for Schréder IMEA.
“It is an exciting time to become a leader of an organisation that is in the forefront of LED luminaire design and manufacture in the African continent”, says Ludwick. “Despite the challenging economic climate, BEKA Schréder is enabling technologies that allow its customers to have more control of their applications and environments. This allows clients to easily enable their energy efficiency initiatives, thus providing them the shortest return on investment and the lowest total cost of ownership.”
Wimpie holds a National Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering and has been in the electrical engineering field for more than 30 years. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in both public and private sectors covering specifications, designs, electrical infrastructure, and outdoor lighting.
Commenting on Wimpie Ludwick’s appointment, Carl Watson, Regional Chief Officer said: “We are pleased that Mr Ludwick has taken the appointment as the General Manager of BEKA Schréder. He will be responsible for executing our regional strategies and his proven track record of leadership and business acumen will greatly benefit our customers, employees and partners in South Africa and our key African markets.”
