BEKA Schréder, a Proudly South African Manufacturer

The manufacturing sector remains one of the key pillars to a balanced economy. It continues to be the core of a diversified economic structure as it strengthens economic growth. It provides employment for people across a wide range of skills and abilities. Furthermore, as South Africa is experiencing a high inflation rate, the manufacturing sector continues to make a positive impact on the nation’s economy by sourcing and buying raw materials locally.

It is the Government’s, particularly the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) aim to increase the competitiveness of the South African market within the global economy by requiring that 70% of the manufactured products bought by State-owned entities are manufactured locally in order to stimulate the nation’s economic growth.

BEKA Schréder supports the call to contribute to the local economy by having approximately 90% of our products locally designed and manufactured. We are determined to provide sustainable and economic benefits. For example, most of the raw materials used for our operation are sourced locally, which assist our local suppliers, who in turn benefit from serving their local community, thereby contributing largely to the economic future of the country. Furthermore, we understand that manufacturing locally is not only about the ideology, but that it is also imperative that our customers embrace the idea of “Local is Lekker”, and invest in local products.

In addition, it is important that we contribute to the development of a sustainable society in which we operate, and it is for this reason that the majority of BEKA Schréder’s floor employees reside around our operations area, thereby ensuring that tax money is invested back into the local community.

Manufacturing plays a huge role in driving economic and social development in South Africa. BEKA Schréder is proud to be one of the companies making a positive impact!
