LED lighting for the outdoor parking area

LED Retrofit for Shopping Centre’s Parking Area

BEKA Schréder has supplied a cost-effective LED lighting solution for the lighting retrofit project of the outdoor parking area at the Atterbury Value Mart in Pretoria. Management at this popular shopping destination wanted to ensure their customers feel safe and welcome also in the evenings. Therefore, an upgrade was necessary.

Atterbury Value Mart Shopping Centre is one of the largest value marts in South Africa stretching nearly one kilometre in length. It is the most popular factory outlet destination in Pretoria. According to the engineering brief provided by the lighting project management consultants Green Power Energy Solutions (Pty) Ltd, the existing poles had to be extended and their current positions had to be used. The luminaire had to be both cost effective and have the capability of achieving the correct lighting levels as per SANS 10389-1. In addition, achieving the correct light uniformity with low glare was important. The Skido 15W LED luminaire met all these requirements.

The Skido has been developed to offer a compact and economic outdoor LED solution. It is versatile and offers maximised savings in energy and maintenance costs. It has been designed to operate LEDs of 15W in an ambient temperature (Tq) environment of up to 35°C, without reducing the useful lifetime of 100 000 hours, at a lumen depreciation of not more than 30% (L70). The Skido, weighing only 1.3kg, features integrated lenses for performing photometry, surge protection of 10kV, as well as a wide operating temperature (Ta) from -20°C up to +50°C. The luminaire has been designed to simplify the installation process, and is manufactured from durable and recyclable materials.

BEKA Schréder is proud to be associated with Green Power Energy Solutions and Atterbury Value Mart in providing a successful and cost effective LED lighting solution for this project without compromising on quality.
